Club Rules

Rules of the club
Adopted 02/23/2004

Affiliation

The club will maintain a membership with the South Jersey Bass Club Association (SJBCA) and pay the yearly SJBCA dues.

 

Meetings

The annual meeting will usually be held in February, or can be changed by membership vote. This meeting will also be the awards presentation and feature dinner paid by the club for each member and their guest (1 guest per member). Nomination and Election of officers will take place at the First meeting of the tournament year. Meetings during the year may be held at tournaments, or at a location and time agreed upon by the members.

 

Membership

Officers of the club will be: President, Treasurer, Tournament Director and SJBCA Liaison

Membership period will be yearly starting March 1 and ending February 28 (29 on leap years).

Member dues will be $40 per year, unless changed by membership votes.

The maximum of boater and Co-angler membership will be 30 each.

 

Tournaments

Club tournaments, which are under an individual format, will be held on Wednesday nights, beginning the first Wednesday after the bass season opens in June and ending after the first Wednesday in September.

Each tournament will cost $20.00 of which, 80% will go to winners of tournament and 20% to club.

Places and amount of payouts will be determined by amount of members participating

The average amount of club tournaments per year will be 12, but can be changed by membership vote. In addition, there will be a club “classic” at the end of the season with the location decided by the membership.

Club members must participate in 5 club tournaments in the season, to be able to fish the classic.

 

Tournament Rules

Tournament director’s decision will be final and any protest must be in writing no later than the close of the weigh-in. Tournament director reserves the right to cancel, postpone or move any tournament due to weather or unforeseen circumstances. Members will be given ample notice.

Any member showing up after the start time of the tournament can participate, as long as they have their livewell checked by another member before they begin to fish.

There will be a 5 fish limit per person for all tournaments, unless it is on a Trophy Bass lake, in which the maximum limit will be 3 per person.

Livewell checks before the start of tournament will be at the discretion of the tournament director.

Dead fish penalty will be ½ pound (8 ounces) per dead fish.

Angler is allowed 2 courtesy measurements and after that, angler will lose weight of next legal fish for any bass under limit.

Anglers must be within 50 feet of ramp with lines out of the water at end of tournament. Anyone late will lose ½ pound of total weight each 5 minutes late up to 15 minutes. After that they will be disqualified.

Participants of each tournament will receive points for their catch with first place receiving 100 points and other places decreasing by 5 points per place.11 place an below will recieve 50 participation points Lunker winners will receive a bonus of 5 points. ​

If there is a tie for lunker, length will be next factor in determining winner, followed by total weight of all fish.​

 

 

 

Awards

Awards for members at end of year will be for first through fifth based on points and a lunker award for biggest bass of the season. First through fifth will be awarded Plaques for the club classic. there will also be a rookie of the year award  The awards will be presented at the February meeting following the previous tournament season.​

In addition, the top six point winners will be eligible to participate in the South Jersey Bass Club Association’s annual Bass Bowl. The club will pay the entry fees for the tournament and traveling expenses for those members participating (restrictions apply, amount will be determined by the amount of funds available at the end of the regular club tournament season).

 

Guest​ ***Note*** Membership is closed for now. No guest for the time being!

 

Guest will be allowed to participate in club tournaments at the tournament director’s discretion. The guest will pay $20 participation fee. Guest will be allowed  to fish up to 3 tournaments as a guest after three they must pay the dues for the year in order to participate in any remaining tournaments for that year
